COVID 19 RISK ASSESSMENT & GUIDANCE FOR CLIENTS ATTENDING BEDFORD CONSULTING ROOMS

 

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Please ensure you inform your clinician if you have had Covid – 19 symptoms in the last 14 days (including family members) and are awaiting a Covid-19 test result or have been asked to self-isolate or been told to shield as you will be required to rebook.

Please consider your travel arrangements, if using public transport, you may wish to risk assess your journey.

Please ensure you attend your appointment with a face covering, you will have access to hand sanitiser/alcohol gel upon entry into the building.

The building usually operates an intercom system, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE INTERCOM, PLEASE CALL YOUR CLINICIAN DIRECT AND LET THEM KNOW YOU HAVE ARRIVED.

YOUR CLINICIAN WILL COME AND COLLECT YOU FROM THE FRONT CAR PARK TO AVOID YOU TOUCHING ANY SURFACES.

Please use the toilet before leaving home, toilets are not in use unless absolutely necessary.

Do not arrive early, the waiting area is not in use. (Emergencies only)

Please attend on your own.

No shopping bags or non-essential items in the building.

Wear a face covering in all public areas.

Wash hands upon entry into the building/use alcohol gel.

Bring a bottle of water if required.

 

CLINICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES

I will book extra time between client appointments so that I can clean between and after my clients, and prevent my clients crossing over.

I will wear a face covering in all public areas of the building, including at the entrance.

I will bring my own PPE – face covering, hand gel/alcohol gel, disinfectant wipes.

I will liaise with my clients to confirm that they (or their household members) do not have Covid-19 symptoms (now or in the last 14 days), are not shielding, isolating, or awaiting a Covid-19 test or its results.

I will bring a hot drink in a flask only.

If I open windows – I will close them, and wipe the handles before I leave.

I will wipe the surfaces that my client and I have used including those touched during entry / exit or use of the toilets.

I will adhere to the checklists in every room.

I will ask my clients to phone or text me (ideally from their car), rather than using the door entry system, to minimise contact here.

I will maintain social distancing, including with other therapists.

I will consider taking payments outside of the appointments if possible, or using contactless.

I will obtain suitable consent from my client, which includes the risks as you have appraised them.

I will dispose of waste or PPE in the way described by my professional body, using the black or yellow bin accordingly.

Fans can be used in line with government HSE guidelines.

I will bring my own water (and / or a spare should my client need some, and didn't bring their own.
